BluSeed Studios is pleased to announce the winners of the fifth annual “Abstraction” art exhibit. The exhibit features 57 abstract works in a wide variety of media including paintings, collage, photography, stained glass, mixed media and metal sculpture.
An anonymous juror selected and awarded five prizes, Best of Show, First Place and two Honorable Mentions and a new prize this year titled “Artistic Director Award. There was also a “People’s Choice” award chosen during the opening.
Best in Show went to Catherine Hurtung for her acrylic collage, “Dismantled.” First Place was awarded to Nathanial Infante for his lithograph, “Construct.” Honorable mentions include Craig Wood for his sculpture, “Upward Spiral” and Gilles Lamarche for his acrylic painting, “Augustus the First.” The People’s Choice award went to Rachel Lamb’s wood carving “Cosmos Within” (pictured here).
The 2017 Abstraction exhibition will run through July 22. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 11am – 5pm, and Saturday, noon to 5pm, or by appointment. Next year’s Abstraction exhibition will open on Friday June 8 2018, entries will be accepted until June 6, so artists- plan now!
