BluSeed Studios “Afternoon Adult Classes” are designed to inspire and advance your inner-artist.  Whether you are retired, have a flexible work schedule, or are high school age and home-schooled, these classes are for you.   A professional BluSeed artist is eager to show you how to tap into your creativity allowing you to attain new skills or advance the ones you already have!.  Classes in this session include painting, printmaking and pottery and begin the week of April 16.

Oil Painting 

Begins April 17 (Tuesday) or April 19 (Thursday)

Solvent-free oil painting class, geared toward beginners, yet capable of adapting the content to intermediate and advanced practitioners.  Instruction is based out of observational painting methods to prepare the painter for future practice in either realistic or abstract painting styles.

The material fee includes water-based oil paints, brushes and 2 canvas but participants are free to bring their own “water-based” mediums and materials in lieu of the fee.

5-week session meets either Tuesdays or Thursdays
Time: 12:30pm -2:30pm

Printmaking:  Using Viscosity in Monotypes
Begins Wednesday, April 18

This class welcomes all levels of skill in printmaking, from novice to advanced. We will use viscosity techniques, a process that allows you to add layers of interest and intrigue to your print.  The monotype experience allows for a free and experimental way to practice the transfer of ink onto paper.  A variety of other techniques will be intertwined with the viscosity process, adding to your printmaking knowledge and promising one of kind prints. 

5-week session on Wednesdays, beginning April 18

Pottery
Begins Thursday, April 19

Open to all levels, with instructor Carol Marie Vossler.
This class is designed for those who have knowledge of the clay/pottery process and want to be inspired to take their practice to another level, as well as those who have never tried but always wanted to.  The student may hone their centering and throwing skills, or choose to hand-build rather than work on the wheel.

5-week session Thursdays

Includes 25# of clay, firing and open studio time during the session
