The accordion or concertina binding is a versatile, relatively simple structure. It has a long history and is used with great frequency by contemporary artists/binders. In this workshop, quick collaborative drawings and rubber stamp printing will serve as the content for an accordion style book. We will make one “finished” book and one or two models for variations on this basic form. The books you make will serve as simple reminders when you employ the form in your own work or the work you do with students.
This workshop is part of the BluSeed Studios’ Creative Classrooms Project, Professional Development for Educators. These workshops are also open to anyone who has interest.
