Enameling is the result of fusing powdered glasses to metal with heat, forming a durable vitreous coating. Artist Lucila Santiago from Mazatlan, MX will teach traditional and experimental techniques of application on various metals. Learn to make a variety of objects from fine jewelry to small scale sculptural objects.
Artist Lucila Santiago, was born in México City. Her extensive studies include the Elvira a Visual Arts degree from Gascón enamel studio; a Visual Arts degree from UNAM School of Fine Arts, San Carlos, MX; a FONAPAS scholarship to study enameling at Escola Llotja, Barcelona, Spain; and later under scholarship from the Italian government she studied History and Literature at Universitá per Strannieri, Perugia, Italy. In 1989 she relocated to Mazatlan, Mexico and became a founder teacher at the Fine Arts department in the Centro Municipal de Arte where she continues to teach. Her works include painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, installation and enameling. She has shown extensively throughout Mexico and the US including over 20 solo and 100 collective exhibitions.
