About the event
This workshop geared to all levels that I am offering, students will learn to integrate source material (from sketches, drawings, prints, photographs & found objects, layered with hand printed botanicals on paper or fabric (using plants as stencils). Students can also create a wall hanging, rather than fusing it to a panel. Works on panel will be finished using glazes of oil and cold wax to add further depth and luminosity. Hand stitching is optional as an added embellishment. We will also be creating cyanotypes on fabric, as well as on personal wearables. Students can bring an item to apply the cyanotype on. I will have white muslin and linen pieces which can be used for cyanotype, and later apply them as patches on jeans, etc ... These can be stitched later with colorful embroidery threads. I will give demos of every stage of the process, including stitching.
